Join us this weekend in support of the Keep America Beautiful campaign.
The JCRPA is participating in the 4th annual Great Jersey City Clean-up this weekend and we'd love to have your help! Join us from 11 a.m to 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 13th, to clean-up our Reservoir. It's almost time to start our regular schedule- help us get the site freshened up for a busy spring and summer!
Reservoir #3 in the Heights is often nicknamed the "Hidden Gem of Jersey City," but sometimes it needs a good polish. Help us to get the site freshened up and ready for a busy spring and summer of hikes, kayaking, nature play, and community events!
How to participate:
Signup on our event page at VolunteerSignup
Arrive between 10:50am and 11:00am
Enter by Jefferson Avenue Gate, between Central and Summit Avenue, The Heights
What we will provide:
Bags and containers for trash disposal
Small trowels and other tools for unexpected odd-job needs
What we ask you to bring:
Your preferred set of work or garden gloves (we wish to reduce plastic waste by not handing out disposable gloves)
Water bottle
Bug spray and sunscreen
The cleanup will be predominantly about picking up loose trash, but if you feel inclined to help dig up one of the bigger items that are "stuck" or trim some branches that are in the way, please bring your own tools for the job such as shovels, hoes, rakes, or trimmers.
Accessibility
This event will involve a short walk along a rocky trail that is akin to a steep staircase, and may involve some rock scrambling or navigation through brush along a hill. Please contact the Volunteer Coordinator, Sarah Burroughs, if you have any accessibility concerns atjcrpavolunteer@gmail.com
